One important aspect of healthy aging is staying active. While this is good for your physical health, it goes much further. Staying active is good for your mental health, helps you meet new people, connect with friends, get outside, and much more!

Senior care facilities have countless benefits, but one of them is the endless activities. At a senior care facility, there is always something to do. No matter the season, residents are offered a wide variety of activities, from art classes to workout classes. Each activity is tailored to the residents to ensure each resident can partake and take full advantage of the class.

So, what are some of the activities we offer?

  • Chair Yoga: Chair yoga is a great, and safe, way to increase your flexibility and decrease inflammation. Yoga is known for its slow stretches and deep breathing. This not only offers residents a way to relax, but also to get in touch with how they're feeling. Classes are taught by trained instructors who can direct and correct movements to create a positive and safe environment.
  • Water Aerobics: You’ve probably seen this in a TV ad or as one of the activities at a hotel. Water aerobics is not only a great way to beat the heat, but also makes for a fun workout! Residents can move more freely in the water and get their heart rate up in a safe way.
  • Walking: Most care facilities are sprawled out over beautiful acres of land. This offers residents the opportunity to get outside, breathe in the fresh air, and move their bodies at a comfortable pace. Plus, it can be a great way to reconnect with a friend over a little walk & talk.
  • Strength Training: Strength training is a great option for those looking to partake in dumbbell or resistance band workouts! This allows residents to build new muscle in gyms or with trainers.

While there are so many other activities offered, these are just a few of our favorites! Activities are offered weekly, and new classes are added monthly. The great thing about senior care facilities is that you can rest easy knowing that each activity is safe and modified to fit our residents' needs.
